Cappy's Battle Level Week 3

You folks know the deal.  Sorry for the hiatus, but everyone has to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday!  The Islanders have been on a roll once again, and it seems to me that they are a legitimate contender.

Jaroslav Halak-  In order to be a legitimate contender, one has to have the goaltending to be the backbone of the team.  Jaroslav Halak has played out of his mind recently, winning 9 in a row & stealing a few games (NJ, Washington most notably) that the Islanders would have lost 1000 times over last year.  He should have been player of the month, and hopefully will continue to be hot.

John Tavares-  It's always a good problem when you're winning games without your best player scoring.  It's an even better problem when your best player is getting hot.  JT has been averaging a little over a point per game for a week now & is starting to get into mid-season form.  He is still making some mistakes in the offensive zone, like trying to be too fancy, but he's slowly but surely cutting down on turnovers.  JT91 is ready to explode.

Nassau Coliseum- If you were to tell me that the Nassau Coliseum is the place to be 5 years ago I would have laughed in your face while watching the Isles lose 7-3 in front of 7,000 fans.  The old barn has been ROCKING & players & coaches are taking notice.  It's like a playoff game each time the Islanders are home, and the array of unique chants & the overall atmosphere of the Coliseum is unreal.  There may not be a louder arena at full capacity as the Coli, & it's remarkable that it's being given a proper sendoff in its last year.

Follow me @SupRos22 for any Islanders related topic.  I'll be at the game tonight, so if you see me say hello!  Puck drops @7 PM.  Let's go Islanders!
