Islanders Look To Rebound Against Vancouver

After losing a tough game to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, the Islanders look to finish off their West Coast road trip on a happy note. They will be facing the Vancouver Canucks, a team that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals this past season.

The last time these two teams faced each other, both teams got a point, but the Canucks came out with two of them, defeating the Islanders in a shootout.

The Canucks bring along former Islander Roberto Luongo, who has been struggling so far this season along with the rest of the Canucks squad. Only having 17 points so far this season, the Canucks will look to get over the .500 plateau. So the Islanders need to expect a strong game out of them.

As for the Islanders, they need to play the entire game tonight, not just the first and second period like Thursday night's game. Coach Jack Capuano will start Evgeni Nabokov, who started off the season with a bang but has cooled off in recent games. Nabokov was pulled before the end of the first period after allowing three goals in his last start on Monday against the Bruins.

The Islanders offense played well on Thursday, making fantastic goal scoring plays. The problem is keeping the opposing team at bay, which could be difficult tonight against the Canucks offense which can explode at any time.

Should be an exciting game tonight!
