Isles Hope to Return from All-Star Break With a Win

The Islanders return from the All Star break to face the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

Some transactions for tonight's game include the recalling of forward Rhett Rakhshani and goaltender Kevin Poulin. Rakhshani has nine goals and 16 assists so far this season in the AHL. They were both brought up due to Marty Reasoner being placed on the IR.

It is interesting why the Islanders brought up Kevin Poulin. Montoya is back already, and Nabokov has been playing well. Unless there is something abrewing within the front office of the Coliseum.

It will be amazing to see what new tricks John Tavares has picked up while participating at All Star weekend. He played with some of the best talents in the game today and it would be cool to check out what he picked up.

Going back to what I alluded to earlier about the goaltending situation, I'm personally intrigued about what Jack Capuano is planning on doing about this. I know the Isles went with the three goaltenders earlier in the season when Rick DiPietro was not on the IR.

The Hurricanes just signed Tim Gleason to an extension yesterday. A nice 4 year deal that will keep him a key player.

I would have to assume Cam Ward will be in goal tonight. John Tavares was the only Islander to figure him out last time these two teams met but hopefully he will share the secret with the rest of the team.
