Isles Look To Continue Recent Success Against Crosby-Less Pens
When you hear that the Islanders and Penguins are facing each other again, the first thought that pops into the average NHL fan's mind is the February 11th game (or "The Brawl Game" as I like to call it) when these two teams went over 400 penalty minutes. But that game is in the past, tonight the Isles face the Pens in search of two points and move up in the standings.
The Islanders are 9-11-6 and turn to Al Montoya to face the 16-9-4 Pittsburgh Penguins who are without their star player Sidney Crosby. And who could forget the last time these two teams met? The return of Sidney Crosby, two goals, two assists. Certainly not the case tonight.
Isles head coach Jack Capuano announced that there will be no changes in tonight's lineup; it will stay the same as it was on Thursday against the Blackhawks. The Islanders need to have a game where it's not only the offense scoring, not only the defense scoring, it's where both the offense and defense score.
Everyone knows the Penguins are a good team even without Sidney Crosby, but the Islanders defense needs to stop the Penguins offense tonight. With Marc Andre Fleury in goal for the Penguins, the Islanders need all the offense they can get and It will certainly be tough if the Penguins offense is in full force.
The Islanders are 4-0-2 in their last 6 and seem to be playing their best hockey all season. Should be an exciting one tonight!
