Isles Set to Face Preds in MLK Day Matinee

The Islanders play host to the Nashville Predators this afternoon and it is always nice to see a team from the West at the old barn.

Although coach Capuano has not confirmed who his starting goaltender will be, I have got to assume Kevin Poulin will be between the pipes. Nabokov has played in 11 straight games and obtained his 300th career victory on Saturday vs. Buffalo. There is no reason not to start Poulin. The only action he's seen as of late is during the pregame warm up.

The Islanders offense needs to be all out today. Nashville can put the puck in the net and they can be physical.

As far as Nashville is concerned, I do not believe they should start their number one goaltender Pekka Rinne. I honestly believe Anders Lindbach will be playing today for the reason such as the Predators play the Rangers tomorrow night and Rinne has played a few consecutive games.

The last time these two teams met at the Coliseum, it ended in the Islanders defeating them in a shootout.

Just to throw in my opinion real quick, I want the Islanders to wear the white jerseys today. I know they wore them Saturday at home but I really want to see how bright the Predators yellow/gold jerseys are.
