Pre-Game NY Islanders vs. Philadelphia Flyers 3/28/13

The Islanders face off against the Flyers tonight in the 2nd of 4 season meetings with their Atlantic Division rivals. The first game was at Nassau Coliseum on Feb. 18th when the Flyers trounced the Isles 7-0 in front of their home ice fans.

The Islanders are in 9th place in the Eastern Conference, and are looking for their third  consecutive win as they push for a playoff spot. Every game is a must win now, if they expect to make the playoffs.

The Flyers are in 14th place in the Eastern Conference, five points behind the Isles. The Isles love to play on the road, and will try to carry momentum over from their 3-2 victory Tuesday against the Washington Capitals.

The top line for the Isles, Tavares-Moulson-Boyes, after scoring the winning goal on tuesday should have their kinks worked out. They had a rough couple of games, however they managed to get the job done. Photo: Robery Kowal/flickr

The Isles have played well of late with a record of 5-4-1 in the last ten games. The record is what it is, however a few of those games could have been won with a little luck.

The Flyers have had it tough in the last ten games with a record of 3-6-1, but their special teams are playing well. Isles will have to be careful about the penalties that they take as Flyers PP could make the difference in the game.

In comparison, The Isles PP is 26/117 at 22.2%, and the Flyers PP is 29/126 at 23.0%.

The PK for the Isles is 86/106 at 81.1%, and the Flyers 108/129 at 83.7%

Injuries: David Ullstrom (groin) and Brian Strait (ankle) will be out of the line up for the Isles

The Flyers D Nicklas Grossman (upper body) is questionable for the game, D Andrej Meszaros (shoulder) is out and Danny Briere (concussion) continues to be out of the line up.

Let's Go Islanders!!!!
