Season to Start Soon, Anxiously Waiting

Good morning fellow hockey fans and writers. I just wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself. My name is Jane Fisher and I will be joining the TCL staff as an Islanders writer this season. I became a RN later in life and unfortunately was forced to retire due to some permanent nerve damage.

This was quite a crushing blow to me after all the hard work I had put in. However, they say when one door closes, another opens. I have been an avid Islander fan since the teams inception in 1972. I am so thrilled to be joing the staff of TCL and looking forward to covering the Isles, as this has been a long time passion for me.

I hope everyone is ready for our shortened season, which to me is better than no season at all. It will be interesting to see how the players adjust from either a long vacation or playing in another league. I know most of them have managed to keep busy. I am grateful for this opportunity and and am excited to interact with fellow fans.

Let's Go Islanders!!

Thank you Mike. I am very excited and happy to be here. The long wait for hockey this season has been tough and I can't wait for it to start.
