Prospect Report 8/20/12: Islanders Prospects at the Summit Series

The Canadian/Russian Challenge series has come and gone and the four Islanders prospect that played in the tournament didn’t disappoint.

Strome finished the series with 4 point (2 goals and 2 assists) while playing in all 4 games.

Griffin Reinhart was limited to just one game during the series as in the first game he suffered a minor shoulder injury that they didn’t want to risk further injury going forward.

He was held scoreless in the game one win over Russia (3-2).

Adam Pelech, who was drafted in the 3rd round this past spring, saw time playing in the final 3 games of the series. He was also held scoreless during the series but was a factor in team Canada’s tough defense.

Andrei  Pedan was the only Islander’s prospect feature on the Russian team. He played in all 4 games for Russia and was able to net one assist during the series.

His physical game was shown as he found himself in the penalty box for roughing a few times over the 4 game series.

Overall the Islanders were represented very well on a large stage and one I am sure they will all remember for the rest of their hockey careers.
