The Islanders short 2 game road trip comes to a conclusion on Thursday night with a visit to the Tampa Bay Lightning. This is the third and final meeting of the season between the teams which each team winning an overtime game on the road. The Islanders look to continue their strong play on the road.

Islanders (28-35-9; last in Metropolitan)- Defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 5-4 on Tuesday night on the road.

Lightning (39-24-9; 3rd in Atlantic)- On Monday they lost in OT at home to the Ottawa Senators. Overall the Lightning have earned points in each of the past 7 games but losing their last 2 games in overtime

Islanders Key To Victory

The Islanders come into tonight winners of the past two games and looking to continue their strong play as the season is coming to a close. The Lightning are looking to hold onto Atlantic Division playoff seeding and possible home ice advantage in the opening round. This is a team that plays good defense and is fast. It is the first time the Islanders will see Steven Stamkos this season and also Ryan Callahan since his trade from the Rangers.
