Tim Thomas to the Islanders, Good Deal or Bad Deal
If you haven't heard by now the Islanders traded for Tim Thomas earlier today for a second round pick in either 2014 or 2015.
Before you freak out and say it's a terrible move by Garth Snow, Bob McKenzie from TSN cleared up the deal on Twitter. He said that the Islanders only give up the pick if Thomas decides to play for the Islanders this season or if they trade his rights to another team.
Thomas has expressed that he doesn't want to play this season so the deal works out for both the Islanders and the Bruins.
Islanders reach the cap floor and the Bruins shed some cap room, it's a win win for everybody.
Best possible scenairo Thomas decides to play and helps lead Islanders to playoffs.
Worst possible scenairo Thomas decides to play and does nothing and the Islanders don't make the playoffs.
Overall it's a great move by Snow, which should be no surprise for Islanders fans.
