Ledecky and Malkin To Be Introduced as New Isles Owners

A few weeks ago the New York Islanders sale was officially approved by the NHL Board of Governor, making Scott Malkin and Jonathan Ledecky joint owners with Charles Wang until they take over the majority share before the 2016-2017 season.

Today the organization will be introducing Ledecky and Malkin to the media as the team’s new owners.

Per the Isles official press-release:

UNIONDALE, NY (October 20, 2014) – Team will introduce new principals at a press conference Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Nassau Coliseum.

WHAT           Press Conference

WHO              New York Islanders Owners

                        Uniondale, NY 11553

The change in ownership signifies a major shift in the New York Islanders franchise. Despite his persistent efforts to keep the Islanders in Nassau County, Wang failed to do so while losing hundreds of millions of dollars in the process.

The Barclays Center in Brooklyn became the next best option for Wang, which will be the Islanders' new home as of next season. It is clear that he intends on seeing his hard work and dedication pay off before Ledecky and Malkin take over.
