Isles Look to Rebound Against Bolts

The Islanders are playing against the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7PM at the Nassau Coliseum. Last season, the Islanders took all 3 games against the Bolts last season and are hoping to continue their winning ways.

They will use the same lineup that saw the ice on Saturday night against the Montreal Canadiens. This will be Ryan Strome's second game in the NHL and he will hopefully feel a little more comfortable playing the team system.

The Isles are catching a break in this game because the star play of the Lightning in Steven Stamkos will not be playing due to a leg injury. He is a prolific scorer but the players around him have been playing well in his absence. Martin St. Louis who is the captain of the Lightning has scored timely goals all year long and has truly fit in well with his new leadership role.

These two teams have had quite opposite seasons. The Lightning have overachieved this year and have been able to stay afloat in the competetive Atlantic Division. The Isles have been struggling mightily and need to turn things around fast to have any hope at making the playoffs.

I'm looking for the first time to have a big game tonight as they were completely shut out on Saturday night against Carey Price. This line has been the catalyst fot the Islanders all year long. John Tavares and Thomas Vanek need to show that they are world class players and get the Isles out of this slump.

With Evgeni Nabokov behind them, I believe the Islanders will be able to pick up a victory against the Lightning on their home ice.
